For First Year B.TECH

For Maharashtra State Candidate: Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and any of Chemistry or Biology or Vocational Subject

And

Secured minimum total 50 % marks (minimum total 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics AND any of Chemistry or Biology or Vocational Subject added together AND Obtained a non zero score in subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together at JEE or MH-CET.

For Direct Admission to Second Year

Educational Qualification:

The candidate must be an Indian National and should have passed Post-SSC or
Post-HSC Diploma course in Engineering/Technology of the Maharashtra State
Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) or autonomous institute to which autonomy has been granted by the state or Maharashtra or diploma recognized as equivalent to the diploma awarded by MSBTE with English medium and at least 50.00% marks (45.00% marks in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State) in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology from an AICTE approved Institution with English as the medium of instruction at Diploma level.

OR

The candidate must be an Indian National and should have passed B.Sc. Degree from a UGC/Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 50.00% marks (45.00% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State) and passed XII standard examination with Mathematics as the subject and with English as the medium of instruction at B.Sc. level.

Note: The students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall only be considered after filling the seats in this category. Students belonging to Diploma stream and students belonging to B.Sc. Stream are required to pass subjects of Engineering Graphics/Engineering Drawing & Engineering Mechanics of the First year Engineering program along with the second year subjects.

ELIGIBILITY / ADMISSION PROCEDURE

(The eligibility criteria may vary as per the directives of Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai and/or Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.)

B.TECH 1st Year

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subject and any of the subject out of Chemistry/Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 50 % marks in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and from among any of the subject like Chemistry/Biology/ Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject added together (minimum 45 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Physically Handicapped belonging only to Maharashtra State) AND Obtained a non zero score In the JEE main Exam conducted by the competent authority

OR

The candidate should be an Indian National having passed the 3 year Diploma course in Engineering/Technology with minimum of 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Physically Handicapped belonging only to Maharashtra State) and medium of instruction as English from the AICTE approved Diploma Institutes affiliated to State Boards of Technical Education or equivalent thereof.

Direct Admission to 2nd Year

The Candidate must be an Indian National and should have passed the 3 year Post- SSC or Post-HSC Diploma Course in Engineering/Technology with at least 45 % marks (40 % marks in case of candidates of backward class categories and Physically Handicapped belonging only to Maharashtra State) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology from an AICTE approved Institution with English as the medium of instruction at Diploma level.

Selection Criteria

A candidate desirous of seeking admission to B.TECH course should fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in rule Table-1
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the JEE or MH-CET score and on the (XII basis) marks in the subjects of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject
As per the G.R. No. sankirna-2011/pra.kra.337/tashi/-4 Dtd. 31/10/2012, issued so far by Govt. of Maharashtra, the 50% of the weightage will be given to the marks obtained in HSC(+2), and at 50% marks obtained at JEE or MH-CET for preparation of merit list.
